Question 1991 CELICA GT vs. 1994 CELICA ST

Well here I am, sitting in front of my computer, looking for a new car. The Nissan Sentra, my mom handed me down, is now in a junkyard some where. After the transmision was blown last Sunday at midnight, infront of my girl friends house ::::how embarasing:::: And had to pay 50 bucks for a cab to get me home...

On my search for a new car, with a 3000 dollar budget I came across a 1991 CELICA GT 5 spd, hatchback, with 160K mls on it for $1700. And a 1994 CELICA ST 5 spd, with 80K mls on it for $3000.

So, my question is which is a better buy?

Any replies will be greately appreciated....

I would go for the 1994. The 91 has double the miles. Obviously, if one of the cars needs considerable repairs, I would go with the one that doesn't need as much work. Here are some performance specs for ya!!
Rob

Performance: 1994 Toyota Celica 2 Dr ST Coupe
Base Number of Cylinders: 4
Base Engine Size: 1.8 liters
Base Engine Type: Inline 4
Horsepower: 110 hp
Max Horsepower: 5600 rpm
Torque: 115 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 2800 rpm
Drive Type: FWD

Performance : 1991 Toyota Celica 2 Dr GT Hatchback
Base Number of Cylinders: 4
Base Engine Size: 2.2 liters
Base Engine Type: Inline 4
Horsepower: 130 hp
Max Horsepower: 5400 rpm
Torque: 140 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 4400 rpm
Drive Type: FWD

wow, tnx man. I was having trouble deciding because of the difference in horse power, but i can try to increase the horse power in the 94, lol I want a car that kicks ass

and by the way, both cars are in great shape, and dont seem to need any major repairs. Also tnx for the specs.
