Well i know that but does it really improve gas mileage a little if you have OD?

The highest gear will always be the most fuel efficient, but any gear below 1:1 ratio is an OD gear. If you have 26 gears, and ten gears below 1:1, then all ten are OD, but yes, 26th gear is the most fuel efficient. WHy is this so complicated???

It only improves gas mileage becaus you are at a lower rpm and therefor using less gas.
