CarFax?

Comments on carfax.com
Last week I put my car on sale and had a customer came to see it. He showed me the carfax report he purchased with my vin number. I was expecting to see accurate records from the previous oweners. I looked at the miledge on each registration dates. From Oct. 2003 to Dec 2003, within that 2 months, it went from 84,000 to 81000. How can this be true? I think whoever put the miledge didn't read it correctly or typed it in wrong. But the report shows that the car has inconsistent odometer reading and this car doesn't qualify for the Carfax gurantee. He wanted to buy my car until he saw this report. after all I couldn't sell it. I lost a customer because of that sutupid carfax thing. Nothing on the report was correct except for the purchased date of the owners. I carfax suck!
A friend of mine also purchased the report before buying his car and it didn't have any infotmation about the repair or damage from the previous owner. And after buying the car, a repair guy told him that the car has been into a major accident. Once again, carfax didn't prove sh*t! People shouldn trust that stuff! What do you guys think?

What do you think?

Have you researched the questionable information?
