Don't mean to be rude, but you should try and do a little research. I recomend buying a car that you overall like. I know this sounds obvious but many people don't think about these basic things when buying a new or used car:

Whats my budget?

Coupe, sedan, hatchback?

Drivetrain...FWD, RWD, AWD?

Reliability...What years are you limiting yourself to?

Just my thoughts on the matter. I suggest honing in on what you want or think you want. If you still can not decide after honing in on a specific type, come back to the forum and ask a question like so...

"Whats the fastest/best 02-06 sedan with AWD for around 18K?"

Hope I was helpful.

5.0 Fox body Mustangs are often considered to be the best car as far as bang-for-the-buck if you plan on modding it. It's opinion, but even if you think there is something better, it's hard to say that these stangs are a bad place to start.

Also, a lot of people are running older Eclipses/Talons, the AWD turbo ones I believe, and with a relatively low amount of $ into them they are making them pretty quick. I've heard a lot about reliability problems, but you'd have to talk to someone else if you want more details as I know even less about these cars as I do the foxbodies. Wasn't there somebody running 10's with one of these on the site?

The problem with these cars is that they are older and they will likely break down. I suggest you focus a little less on performance and a little more on reliability if you are a college student without a lot of $ or knowledge of cars, especially if this is to be your daily driver.
