porsche 911 turbo

hey all.
i posted a few months ago with questions on how to modify my 2003 c230 mercedes benz. well now im tired of that car. i need a new car now (or a used one). my budget is $35,000-$40,000. what is the highest performance car i can buy with $35,000-$40,000? i was thinking about buying a 1991 porsche 911 turbo. is there anything else faster out there in that price range?

thx

I would recommend a cheaper car and more money towards mods to make it faster.

Consider BMW's too.

what cheaper cars are out there that will come close or outdo the performance of a 1991 porsche 911 turbo? stock 911 turbos do close to 400 hp with excellent handling.

Wow for that much money you could have a really fast car. I would either:
  • Buy an 03/04 Mustang Cobra for 28k and put the rest of the money into a Kenne-Bell supercharger and other accessories to get 600rwhp easy
  • Buy a 99-02 Cobra/GT and get twin turbos
  • Buy a 87-93 or 94-95 Mustang with a 302 and turbo it.

But that's just me.

For that much money there are tons of fast cars. If you want a really really cool car I would spend like $20k on the car then that same amount on mods.

yeah you're right about the horsepower, but the only thing is that those cars have shitty handling. i'm disappointed about what i've been offered for my car, only $17,000 but i can still buy a 35,000 - $40,000 car. i was actually checking out these ebay auctions. tell me what you think

Go for the Porsche, if not for the fact that it will be hard to find a better car, its a way nicer car than a souped up mustang, and its an exotic.

I like the red and tan interior ones, although the red one might be too overwhelming.
