SUV/Truck

Hey guys I live in Victoria, BC Canada I have been looking into buying an SUV for quite some time now, however I cannot find one that is for the price I have been looking for. I am very intrested in the Ford Explorer Sport Trac do you think you guys can give me a couple more options which are similar to the Sport Trac without the price.

I need...
1. Inleast 5 seats
2. Fairly Large trunk space
3. Affordable price
4. I am not sure if I should get a V8 or a V6 How much more fuel efficent is a V6 compared to a V8

Thanks, Jason

alright fatass, here is what i recomend. a used cadillac escalade @ carsdirect.com

or

a jeep wrangler/liberty/cherokee.

Jeep makes great SUVs. If you want a truck, you wont go wrong with a dodge ram.

well, the caddy's are pretty expensive, but you can pick up a used one for pretty cheap. around like 20k and a lot are even under that.
im not so sure about the Ram vs the F150 but i will try and look that up soon. right now, i gotta study for a midterm. but check out carsdirect.com look for any car there. they have lots of good prices.

If you like the look of the Escalade but not the price the GMC Denali or the Chevy Avalanche would be your cheaper bet...Caddy, GMC, and Chevy are using the same chassis also

I'm partial to Dodge, but their seats suck big time in the Durango(all their truck seats suck), and an absolute yes on the V8.

that is pretty much like deciding if you want a apple or a orange for snack. One is a SUV the other is a SUV/pick up. I personally like the Avalanche because you have that option, but there is too much damn ugly grey plastic wrapped around it. It is nice to have a V8 but if you are not going to tow anything or do excessive 4x4ing you might be wasting a lot of gas with the 8.

You should look at it's direct competition. I highly recommend the Toyota Tacoma Double Cab or the Nissan Frontier crew cab. Both are new designs this year. GM offers the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon in crew cab versions. Dodge has a new Dakota out this year available in a crew cab also.
I like Ford's, but I think the Explorer Sport-Trac is outdated compared to it's competition. Ford will probobly replace it in a year or 2.

i really think you should look into the Ford Expedition. Dont get the big engine unless you will be towing. you will save money that way. Also a low sitting car the Subaru Outback or Subaru Forrester are very good cars. Nissan Pathfinder is also a good SUV.

I have been looking at the Expeditions and they seem quite nice...however dont they only come in V8 models I have not seen one with a V6 and would a V6 even be powerful enough for it.

What is affordable?

Could you be a bit more specific on the price?
