Lets see....when I was in the car with him he backed into a parking pole very lightly, and the whole bumper including the metal support came off, along with a large chunk of metal. The interior was falling apart. The Engine was in terrible shape, leaking everytihng. Plus it was the fact that he didnt care because he had just bought his fiancee a brand new TL and had an i30 for himself.

Becuase it was only 1500 dollars I thought I could do some work with it, but after my dad told me no I kinda thought about it, and changed my mind anyway. He gave it to his friends (my current boss's roommate) who sold the Mustang along with his Z34 (or 24 i dont remember it was the 2 door sports one) and got himself a GS430 black

The WRX was 4-door only and Wagon.

You're thinking of the pre-02 Imprezas which also came in 2-door.

The cars you all suggested were great, but I found a 1993 Eclipse GS on the side of the road for sale at an incredibly cheap price, so I grabbed it! Paint is in great condition, interior is almost perfect, 93,000 miles, and one of my favorite body styles. I know it isnt as powerful as the cars listed or what I was looking for, but it sure handles well, and now I have a few thousand left for upgrades, though I dont know where to start!

I'm looking to put a turbo in this baby someday, and posted in the tech forum for suggestions. I'm half tempted to post picutres of it, but im sure you all have seen plenty of them, so ill refrain..

On the topic of the turbo upgrade for the eclipse...I think it's generally accepted that it too much money and time to turbo the GS engine. You want the 4g63 out of the GST, GSX, or lancer evolution. Not sure how easily those swap in. If you really got a good deal, maybe you can sell the car for more, and get a GST/GSX. Also look into an Eagle Talon TSi, same car as the turbo ecliplse.

Aye was thinking about selling my car being that my mechanic friend no longer has the time to help me out, and then buying a GSX or GST, whatever I find first. The old folks I bought my car from didn't know about Craigslist or Ebay or anything else, and just had the sign up in the window, I was lucky enough to see it before anyone else did! I got my GS at a killer $1,100

Great deal, kbb on it is around 2,400, so you can make about a grand off of it and find a turbo one for yourself.
