Question Importing A Stereo From America

I am thinking about importing a car stereo from America as it will save me over 150 (about $280). I'm currently deciding between two stereos they are both Pioneers. The first is the DEH-P8600MP, this looks like a nice stereo and is packed full of features. The second is the DEH-P9600MP, this is the same spec as the DEH-P8600MP but has different styling.

I would like to know what you guys think about these stereos, and would also like to know if there are any issues with importing a car stereo from America to use in the UK. I have heard people having problems with the radio, can someone explain these problems to me???

Thanks in advance...

Import

Hi there!

I wouldn't advice you to import it from the US! Why? Well that's a simple one! They use other frequencies for the transmission of radio signals then the European ones!

That means for you that there are a large number of stations that you won't receive with this imported one.

Greetings!

Yes, they will solve the problem, but when you add this price to the price of the car-hifi, you won't save a lot of money any more, I guess!

Also, the display of the station frequencies won't be correct, as the expander transforms the EU frequency range to the US frequency range!
