transmission damage

this is a general question.

i'll save myself from embarassment and not tell you how it happened... but what ended up happening is... my truck was sliding down a slight slope in neutral with the engine off. To my surprise, I had no brakes (I guess because the engine was off?). While sliding backwards in neutral towards the road, I panic and put transmission in reverse/drive which produced a grinding noise, I then slid it back into neutral as the car stopped by itself at the bottom of the slope. Thank god there was no traffic.

I'm just wondering if I did any real (or small) damage to the transmission?

thanks.
