I found this site about some guy's electric car that is supposedly really fast, and I think it's hilarious, especially how he has a clip of him totally smoking a 96 vett. It has a 200 hp AC induction motor, 183 ft-lb of torque. it weighs 2450 lb, 0-60 in 4.1 sec's.

-"The range at a steady 60 mph is 100 miles."
-"Pack life is on the order of two to three years, or 15,000 to 20,000 miles. At current prices, a set of new batteries costs about $3,000 from Optima."
-"Limited production capacity may create long waiting periods for early production vehicles. To secure a position on the delivery schedule, a deposit of $2,000 is required. Deposits are refundable if you wish to cancel your position in line. When a firm delivery date is set, a formal purchase contract will be required along with an additional deposit of $18,000. The balance will be due upon delivery of the car."

I would never buy one, seriously. $20,000+ for a car that only has an effective range of 100 miles, and costs $3000 not including maintenance every 20,000 miles. SUCK! But still hilarious
