My parents can't afford to buy a Japanese car. We have a Ford Focus, a Sunbird, and my old $800 Mazda 323. Also, what about the fact that it costs and arm and a leg for Japanese and European parts? American cars are dirt cheap to fix.

What I'm getting at, is yes, in a way you're right about imports being "better". But we need domestics too.

So whatever your point is, it sucks.

Depends where you get you "expensive Euro parts" from...

The whole point behind this is that you feel that your preferences are what the whole industry should cater to. They don't. So buy the one you like best and quit being an insulting prick about everything else.

Quit dealing in absolutes. A Mustang is utter crap because an Enzo outhandles it? So effin what? The road racing Mustangs seem to do pretty well against the BMW M3s, so maybe your point is a bit skewed...

Yes, the Mustangs racing have had more work done to them, but so have the BMWs.

Jay, you REALLY don't know what you're talking about, you use absolutes to prove the wrong point, and you feel the need to insult everythign that isn't your favorite, in order to justify HAVING those favorites.

I like ALL cars, American, Japanese, European, road race, drag race, rallye. If it has wheels and an engine, I can have fun with it, and have been for 3 decades. I've built and helped build championship winning road race and slalom race cars, and crewed on championship teams. I've owned over a hundered cars from most major manufacturers around the world, and driven considerably more in competition. I've formed opinions based on decades of automative experience both personal and professional. And even THOSE opinions are fluid and subject to change. It's not that hard, if you take the approach that you can actually learn new things. You should try it.

Your only saying that because he agrees with you.

Saying that ALL American cars suck is the epitome of ignorance. Yes, Japan makes good cars. Yes, Europe makes good cars. But it is also true that America makes good cars. Theres no reason to hate one countries cars over anothers.
