Keep it in the garage...or wait till you get a licence and THEN get a car

if the car is just sitting out in the open insurance is there to reinburst you if something happens to it. You should start it up everyone once ina while and drive it a couple of miles. I dunno about owning a car in canada ask chris knows. If your going to insure a car link it to your parents and put the cheapest car under your name if your parents trust you not to crash it.

In BC, I believe you need a parent or guardian to sign the ownership if you are under 18. You can have a car not insured, but it has to be on your property, not on the street. If you have a car not insured and parked on the street, and someone hits it, you would be in major trouble (if a claim had to be made). Also, any car on the road must have insurance. I believe in the US you can drive around without insurance...(?)

Wait you have to be 18 to buy a car without the consent of your parents? What about private party sales, can't you buy the car but not get insurance and a tag put on without your parents signing the ol legal papers?

I'm pretty sure it's the same here as Mathew said, but I'm not sure about Quebec...a typical garage would probably be around $50 month, but look around for the prices...

I've been told that anyone (of any age) can buy car, putting it in your own name depends on where you are. It's also up to the seller on whether or not they want to sell to you. If you're not going to drive it, then you won't need tags or insurance as it isn't goin anywhere (you could always just buy a 10 day trip permit if you need to drive the car). A typical parking space in a garage can range anywhere between $30-80 a month (depending on size, heated or not, etc).. or atleast that I've seen listed around here.

well then wouldnt it cost less for me to just plate it and insure it under my moms name and keep it on the street... plate and insurance would be around 500$ a year...

garage = (12*40) = 480$...

not sure.. whats a better idea

In a garage you'd at least know it was safe, but if you want to work on it, then the insurance...

tu parles en francais?

je parle un peut francais.

Anyways, to answer your question. I do not believe that PQ has any laws governing the age at which you can own a vehicle. But to register it you need a valid driver's license.
