Yes, your car has the potential!
To be ugly.
Make it a fast sleeper. If I had to have a civic, thats the only route i would take. Most body kits are hideous....anything more than subtle is overkill.

It is my firm belief that ANY car given the right time, money, passion, money, and attention (and money), has the potential to be fast, luxurious and/or good looking.
So yes, your car has potential.

Just like Zalight said, any car has poetential and endless possibilities, granted you forget the financial and labor demands.

It has the potential to be a daily commuter. Face it, it's an economy car.
At what point did people start believing that Civics were show cars?

There are TONS of mods for Civics, It can be done up well, but that is for the exterior (and engine dress up). If you need to sort out the interior though... Not as easy... You must visit a garage (preferbly a tuner garage) and get them to do up some interior restoration. At the shop I work, we do it for anycar, I mean come on, we done a Peugeot 106 (1991). And trust me, that is a terrible car to work with, so your civic shouldn't be too big of a problem.

your car has potential to be another civic on road with a big muffler, just like all those kids out there. is that what you want though? maybe you should make it the car you drive to go buy something original like, hey no one has modded kia yet! but please god don't be another ricer trying to look hard in his civic

To me people like Mathew and Gothicaleigh are very ignorant when they make replies like that. First of all though i respect your decision, anything more than subtle is not overkill. The friggin Titanic was EXTRAVAGANT and hell people liked it. The new Lexuses that i seen last night were extravagant and they blew the other chicago auto show cars off the god damn map in my eyes. he could make his car as extravagant as he wants just so long as it looks good. and second of all define show car for me Gothicaleigh? Show car is basically a car that has been modified from it's original appearance to be made into a work of beauty. There are people who first started making the Civic a show car before mainstream america got it's hands on it. There are people who can make the civic a thing of supreme beauty. You just don't know any of them i guess Mr. Corvette. And if the Civics lovers dont make their cars show cars, are you gonna go with the Z06 and make that a show car? hell a car that is fast as hell and has five tvs in it is definately show car material to me.
At what point did people start thinking any car was a show car? a show car isn't bound by it's class. Only by imagination.

When I first read this thread I thought it sounded funny as hell. lol Dude, Ok, Civic, Yeah.........there are a lot of civics out there and a lot of guys that try to modify them. I say, if you really have a heart out to do it, then go ahead. But if you want to have a car with greater potential, then get a Mustang or Camaro or something. I mean hey, for the amount of money you may spend to get that little Civic to run with a stock Mustang, you could have a bad ass muscle car. Keep an open mind, a 10 Second Civic is a sight to see at a drag strip

Stop for a second.
Look at what he is starting with and look at the monstrosity he wants to turn it into. For the love of god, just put a paint job on the thing and drive it until the wheels fall off. If he wants to throw away his money, there are far better ways to do it...
He was asking for our opinions on his plans for the car. Perhaps I should have just lied to him and replied with "OMFG!! That thing is soooo sweet man! Do it! People will think you are uber-leet cruising in that! That bodykit is off the hook! You need to add a giant aluminum wing to get all that RWHP to the ground though..."
Nah, instead I did as he asked and gave my honest opinion.

I think that that thing of your has the potential to get good gas milage and thats about it, but yes please make it look at least respectable, so many people install those hidious body kits that just make you the laughing stock, so good luck to you.
