They don't do performance upgrade because it's MTV. Most people who watch it would get bored if they go on about fitting high lift cams etc. Also parents would get concerned as it promotes speeding to young kids and teenagers if they get shown turbo and nitrous being used and tested etc. Also a pimped car doesn't need high performance to do it's job.

However they do replacement engines.

The design is rather unique in a way. And he has done a few things I have never seen before. The gas door on the roof, and the air intake coming out of the hood. Uniquely ugly

That is by far the ugliest Body kit I have ever seen on an EG in my life (and I've seen ugly)!!!!! I'm not sure if I like the air intake poping out of the hood though. But you have to give whoever did the bodywork credit. Not one seam, crack, misalignment, the work looks professional. To bad it's hideous!

His hatch is very boxy from the factory... Like all 88-91 hatches.

The 4th gen Civics can be made pretty quick pretty easily. The '91 Civic Si had a D16 with 108hp. That's the quickest stock USDM model. Japan got the SiR and SiRII 88-91 Civic Hatch with 160ps while Euro got a similar 1.6i-VT model with 150ps. The Si hatch only weighed 2275lbs. A lot of people though who go mostly for performance get the DX hatch which weighed only 2150lbs (both the DX and Si are only made "fast" IMO with a motor swap).

Two common motor swaps in this hatch is tha B16a1 (160hp) and the DOHC ZC (130hp).

Those are great little cars. Im thinking of getting one for my first car. I drove my cousins the other day and liked it. For only 108hp it had some get up. It has a 5-speed so it was pretty fun. I need something good on gas anyway, if I was to get a muscle car like I originally wanted it would kill my wallet

A H22a engine swap sounds pretty good to me

Not necessarily...I just don't agree with the statement that older car interiors are worse looking than new ones in all aspects.

If you want to try a real fun car get in a CRX Si. It's like the Civic Si only tighter, more nimble and quicker. Weighs as much as the Civic DX hatch.

The CRX Si is a great car to have fun with. You see quite a few of them in the SCCA Solo II running just stock class mods (shocks, exhaust, slicks).

The H22a swap is very difficult i nthe 4th gen civic/crx, and it really makes them front heavy. Honestly the best swap for those are the B16a1 and DOHC ZC (if you dont have enough money for the B16a1). The DOHC ZC is a wonderful motor and is extremely cheap and lightweight (130hp and $600-$800 for complete motor/trans).

MY friend had a 5th gen DX hatch (92) that is heavier and not as nimble as the 88-91 CRX Si and it has the DOHC ZC swap. Cost him $700 total for the swap and he has put about $800-$900 into the engine for mods (I/H/E pulley set and cam gears) making about 155-160hp and 16" wheels (on 215 rubber) with just lowering springs and that car will run with a lot of others... VEry fun car to drive.

Uhhhh yeah ok eventhough they put new bigger better engines in multiple car among other performance things.

The VX wieghed in at 2094 lbs. and offered absolutly nothing. No power anything, no a/c, and a super efficient/wimpy 1.5L making 92 Hp @ 5500 RPM.

(For those of you who care)
