Pontiac Bonneville blows hot after battery died

I accidentally left the interior dome light on in my 1996 Pontiac Bonneville SE V-6 3800 serII the other night. After noticing it last night, I pulled out the battery and charged it today. All went well, no problem. However, after reinstalling the battery, now the digital climate control system blows HOT air only, no matter what the temperature is set at (left it at 60 F). As the temp down here in Florida right now is 70 during the day, and going to get 80's in a couple of days, this is a major problem!

I should also state that last week I replaced a vacuum line in the engine compartment that was the main vacuum line for the climate control system. It had rotted and fell off, and the air would only blow through the windshield and floor vents.

Now, the AC did blow cold the last time I drove the car (three days ago).

What in the heck happened, and it is fixable inexpensively?

I do have mechanical experience, and often work on this car for intermediate-level repairs (about the most involved stuff I'd get into is cleaning the fuel injectors. I don't do suspension work, air bag system work, etc.).

Appreciate any and all suggestions!
