MTX Jackhammer - The ultimate subwoofer

Ok, so I was watching the latest episode of Pimp My Ride, and I see this behemoth. Now my question is: Does MTX even mass produce these? Or are they just for special order? I dont know who would even need so much bass, too much just sounds bad IMO.

That thing is an actual Subwoofer too. My friend showed me a site where they have it. Not sure where anymore, but I'm pretty sure you have to custom order it and it's expensive as hell. Either way, it's pretty useless.

Oomba, despite making a car look hot without any engine mods at all (ricer), you gotta admit what they do is pretty fancy as they take a car like the kind they do and make it look like they do.

I think the jackhammer runs about $6k or more. Personally I think it is overkill, takes too much room and a very easy way to kill your hearing.

And the cars on that show AREN'T overkill? I mean, they take someone's clapped out pile of junk and use sponsor money and products to make something completely outrageous that the owner doesn't have to pay for... and being outrageous is the only point. That's what makes it cool, even if the cars aren't all that useful when they are done (to be honest, most aren't all that useful beforehand..)

Do you need that much bass? Of course not. No more than you need 400 hp in a street car.

I agree 100%. Everyone wants a little bit cooler interior, exterior, etc (except sleepers) but what they do is just ridiculous. Not only is it no good for racing, but it's no good for day to day driving. Who'd take a car like that to a supermarket?

Jackhammer Vs Kicker SoloX

jackhammer -
22" subwoofer
12,000watt max
6,000 watt RMS
369lbs

SoloX -
18" subwoofer
10,000 watt max
5,000 watt RMS
weight N/A

i'd take the SoloX in my opinion

fun to own until you get pulled over by the cops for a traffic violation, then you get the book thrown at you for illegal modifications. Or get it pulled for street racing...
