Which one?

Hey guys, my dad is looking to buy a car right after we pays off his truck. He is looking to buy a new mustang or a Z06 that is a couple years older. Either car would be manual. So my question for you is which one would you rather have? I'd get to drive the car sometimes and would like to persuade him to buy the best one. Thanks!

Every mid-life crisis era gentleman gets a Corvette. Go for the 'Stang GT and a Borla exhaust.

I was thinking the same thing. Are you questioning a Rustang vs. the Z06? GO for the vette baby.

Are you so insecure that you can't tarnish you image a little to have a MUCH faster car?

I'd much rather have a Mustang built up to 405 hp than a Corvette with 405 right out the box. That's boring.

Not me cause the LS series has more easily accesible potential than the 3v Mustang.

Plus a stock 405hp motor will more than likely drive and behave better than a motor built to 405hp.

Z06 is lighter.

Z06 without a doubt looks better.

Z06 Gets better gas mileage.

Z06 has 6 gears instead of the mustang's 5.

Z06 has a higher top speed

Z06 has better aerodynamics.

I dont buy cars to worry about my image, thats for gay ricers. I buy cars to drive and to hell with what everyone else thinks.

Oh forgot to say go with the mustang, it obviously the logical choice.

Especially since you could get a used C5 Z06 for just a little more than a decently optioned new GT.

Rustang...right.
Anyway, don't listen to these people. Every old guy in America has a damn Corvette. The Mustang also a better quality car build wise. I don't know about you, but I don't like all of my damn body panels being PLASTIC.

....Ok? Yeah, and thats why the mod motor guys can run stock internals, crank and all, with a high boost twin turbo set up to make 600+ hp.

I'm partial to Ford, so I'd say the Mustang, but the C5 Z06 is my second favorite Corvette, faster, lighter, ect. The Corvette is also the purer sports car...as much as I hate to say it, go with the Chevy.

Of course, either way, you seem to win in this situation.

And for how long, anyone can crank the boost way up on a stock motor and have it last just long enough for a dyno run and say well Im makin this much on a stock motor.

And LS6s, can do the same. Ive seen LS1s not even LS6s on 5.5 pounds of boostr with a TRT turbo cam making over 500rwhp. LS6 is a highhorsepower car to begin with so they would make more plus many FI guys are runnin the Z06 cam for boosted apps, so you wouldnt even really need to swap cams.

ALso Ive seen the stock LS6 crank all the way up to 900rwhp.

About mustang bein of better build quality, on whatn grounds do you say this, about corvette fenders being plastic? That the most retarded shit Ive ever heard.

Why are you comparing a stock car to a modded one? First off, he made no mention of modding these cars. Secondly, if they're the same price, then he's got just as much money to build the Vette up. Once again, stock they're the same price, and I'm just guessing it would be cheaper to make the Z06 fast if you did want to bring modding into the equation.
