2001 Pontiac Grand AM will not start.

First off I started getting lights on in the dash for a few weeks. Did not get time to get it looked at. Then I stared it up and tried to pull out and then it stalled. And Now it will not start. I changed the fuel filter thinking it might be blocked. Still would not start. Then went out and cleaned air filter, MAF sensor and throttle plates. After doing that it started for a few seconds and then that was it. It sounds like it is not getting any gas. Woundering if the fuel pumpmight be bad? And if so how can I check it, if I can?? Can I check it with a DMM meter? Or what else can I try and do??

Thanks
