Amazing, these cars are race bred track machines. I can drive it day to day in luxury and comfort, and then take it to the track and just tear it up.

I have a 2000 Camaro SS. It is virtually the same as the WS6. It has the same LS1 engine, on which I avg. 16mpg around town with. The handling is by no means bad, but its not great either. It does however have great acceleration, which is what the car was made for. It is also easy and cheap to modify (you can get a lid for about $100 that will take off 1/10 of a second in the quarter mile). I love the car, and know for a fact that it accelerates alot better than an S2000. The Honda is probably more reliable and handles a little better, but that still doesn't compensate for its high price and lackluster acceleration in my mind. I know a kid who has a 3000GT (non VR4), and he loves the car, but says the repair bills are huge. I hear the 300ZX TTs are really fast and I'm sure they corner well. All I know about the RX7s is that there are some pretty damn fast modified ones out there. You could probably get one that somebody already suped up for cheap. I personally recommend the WS6 just so you can stick it to the ricers. While you're at it I recommend you check out the newer Camaro SS, or even a Firehawk if you have the $.

I think the ss has a few suspension goodies. Like Bilsteins, bushings, and maybe swaybars. But it also has an exhaust and a lid i think. Theres really no point in then because the extra money you pay can be better spend on better mods. I just love the ls1 because with a lid and exhaust you can dip into the 12s. I been looking for firehawks but there so hard to find and ive only found one for sale and it was red. I am very adament(Dont know how to spell that) about the car im buying must be black or dark blue. I like to speed so i need to fly under the radar. Oh about the s2000 it acclerates just as quickly as the ws6. It does 0-60 in 5.4 while the ws6 does in 5.3. The s2000 probably just doesnt feel that way because that little 2 liter isnt near as torquey as the ls1. No the ss wasnt a v6. It came back in 96 with an LT1 then in 98 it got the LS1. Stickin it to ricers may be fun in a ws6 but its more fun in a dodge ram with a hemi. pull up to the light give them a little rpm then pull it into 4 high and take off. they never expect a thing and the look on theieir face is priceless

My first choice would be the Trans Am WS6 (I dont think Ive ever said that before ) and then the Mazda RX-7.

But i promise you youre boneville couldnt stay with my neighbors z28. Its making 480 hp at the wheels. Its quite quick. Your mustang could definetly beat him but i doubt the bonnevile.

The car i buy will be a Manual and it will be modded. The car will be raced at a local road course and autocross events. Most of these cars are about egual in straight line performance and handling (Even some of these cars are complete polar opposites). I would love to hear anyones opinions on these cars( I know about the reliabiltiy issues with the rx-7 but i know of a very good local rotary mechanic) anything from how they handle at the track, repair costs, aftermarket support, to gas mileage. Please tell me which car you think is superior and why. I would appreciate any help and i really need it. Thanks.

The S2000 is easily the best choice for a road/race car. The S2000's do excellent in their respective A-Stock and B-Stock categories in SCCA (They DOMINATE B-Stock).

Noooooo... Camaro SS's were always V8. The 98-02 you might be thinking of had the Corvette LS1 in them.
