'93 Chevy Lumina Euro 3.1 Whine

Hey,

My Chevy makes a pitiful whining noise when I'm accelerating. Sort of sounds like transmission, because the pitch changes as the gears do. Suggestions?

Your alternator will soon fail.. within a few months..
It may be putting out proper amperage but the brushes are worn.
Replace when time and weather permit.
Buy a rebuilt with a lifetime warranty..
This is a very easy job to do yourself on this engine..
Hint when you install the replacement put a little grease on the rear where the shaft ends( some tiimes this has a plastic cover over it).
This will make the alternator last longer buy keeping impurities out and not making the shaft wear due to inpurities.

Too little info, but I second the alternator theory.
