I believe that saying belongs to vwhobo or chrisv, I can't remember who said it but it stuck with me ever since (and has been one of the reasons why I want to stay N/A)

I said there is no sense doing it if you arent doing anything else to the engine. Simply becuase the price is high.

Actually I don't believe that term was coined by either one of them, I've been hearing it since I can remember, I'm sure it originates from the muscle days...

Right, I agree, but the first time I heard was from one of those fellas on these forums.

No you didn't, but I'm sure that's what you meant to say just like in another thread.

Gee dipshit, do you feel dumb yet, or should the thread go on?

You don't have to go all out on the engine when you bore. Sure, your going to have to get some new parts, but going all out is a bit over the top. But then again, you don't just bore an engine and be done with it, boring involves geting new parts to handle the extra displacement. First you say going all out on the engine, then you simply say doing anything else to the engine. Which one is it? Oh, and boring is def. worth it, whether your going N/A or planning on F/I .

But what I said was its not a good idea if you arent doing full mods. I even had at the end for that purpose

Of course the pots on four bangers can and do get enlarged. There can be some traps, however. Some engines aren't blessed with thick walls, so a little investigation is prudent. To overcome this, wet liners are sometimes used to retain structural integrity.

I am currenty working up an L20 four pot and using 1.5mm larger pistons, long rods, etc. I'm not stroking because I want my rod acceleration to stay moderate, but I have managed to get the rod/stroke ratio in the band I want.
