noob question

High Horsepower = High Top speed (generally speaking)
High Torque = How fast you get to the top speed........right?

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall...torque is how far you take the wall with you. But generally speaking torque peaks at a lower rpm, and creats pulling power, giving you the true feeling of balls. THen there are some cars with alot of horsepower and low torque, these cars are fast once you get to the right rpm, which could be very high. So generally you are correct.
