do you understand this carfax - faq?

I am searching for a car, and checked with Carfax. Everything came up clean however, it showed that it had one owner and then 6 additional files. Can anyone tell me what the other 5 title this means? Does it mean it was purchased 5 other times? Or does it mean change of addresses? Also will the dept of motor vehiles tell me what the odometer read each time?

Reason I'm conserned is that I dont' like "6" and although the car was in very good shape, and 70K miles, it looked like it had been in a garage for six months + there was that much dust on and in it.

CARFAX searched over 2.07 billion records from nearly 800 sources and found 6 record(s) for this 1998 TOYOTA CAMRY CE/LE/XLE (4T1BG22K9WU368530).

The key to your question comes from looking at the title numbers. The first one is when the dealer recieved the car in Washington. The remaining five are all the same meaning no change of ownership. Most likely a change of address, possibly one when transferred from the finance company to the purchaser.

As for getting the DMV to cooperate and give you the mileage for each time I'd have to say good luck.
