Ki2ay specifically asked what a tiptronic vehicle is. I didn't say that a tiptron is an enire vehicle.

Think about this for an analogy:

Guy: hey what's a manaul vehicle?

Me: A manual vehicle is just a vehicle with a maunal Transmission.

See, makes sense right?

And I am not disputing that The tiptron is a Porsche transmission, I was asking if it is then why is does the Jetta have one, and you answered that so thank you.

And yes, it would be alright for you to say that you have a Borg warner transmission, many people do that. People say things like " I just got a momo shifter." Its the same Idea, Im not completly replacing the transmission with tiptron, im simply slapping it on as a modifier, A tiptronic transmission.

Now, please understand Im not arguing with you, we are just miscommunicating. You think Im saying something I'm not, Im trying to say one thing and your hearing another. So please just chill out.

Am I making this clear enough for you yet?

The transmission in my '86 Dodge was designed and built by Borg-Warner. Would it be correct for me to call it a Borg-Warner? I think not. Why can't you simply accept what I said in my first post of this thread? "Triptronic is and always has been a name owned by Porsche. Right idea, wrong information." Other than the fact that I inadvertently misspelled the name, that is absolutely correct information. You on the other hand insist that your demonstrably incorrect information is right.

Has it ever occurred to you to wonder why you're incapable of being employed? Your attitude and inability to think logically just might have something to do with it.

What is a triptronic transmission then vwhobo? is it the semi manual?
feel free to call me an idiot because i am but answer my question

Have you taken the time to read the entire thread? Or how about the post that you quoted? I guess for you I need to add a prerequisite step to THINK, TYPE, SUBMIT... READ.

In the 968, I might add. This is an educated guess, but wasn't that 1992?

CVT triptronic

What will blow your minds is a CVT w/ steering column paddle shifting tritronic by mini C. An efficient tranny w/ the slight control of certain gear ratios even though having the infinite ratios and no drop in rpms what so ever thriugh acceleration.

BMW have used triptronic in there manual for the 330ci for a long time. the way it works in a bmw (i dont know if it is any different in anyother car) you put it into drive (which is automatic) then you moe the gear stick to the side which gives you 'sport mode' then if you move it up of down it gives you a semi-automaitc gear change.

its basicly the same but the good thing about the semi-whatever is that when you reach a critical limit in the red line it changes gear anyway.
so what volvo do you drive?
