im only going to do this once, and if someone else asks, we all get to say SEARCH!!!!!

basically, most cars, have ECUs, which im sure you know... the ECU will supply the proper fuel amounts to match with the amount of air going into the engine which is measured by MAF mass air flow sensors, or MAP manifold absolute pressure sensors. the ECU will eventually cut off the fuel being sent into the engine at a certain point to try and protect the engine from taking more pressure than it can handle. problem that this runs into is if, say youre boosting, (il use my cressida as an example) my cressidas furl cut is at about 12lbs of pressure, or boost. if i run higher boost, i run into the possibilty of oh, say detonation becuase the fuel mixture is to lean.
you can buy fuel cut defusers from companies like HKS and Blitz, so you can run higher boosts

Fuel cut just means the fuel supply is halted to the engine under certain conditions. These include boost cut (exceeds preset boost level), vacuum cut (exceeds a preset vacuum level), speed cut (exceeds a preset vehicle speed).
