Quick release hubs

well, im doing just fine putting the interiors back together. the carpets should arrive either by friday or early next week, and the seats will get done either by the end of April, or early May. anyhow, the only detail i have absolutely put no effort on is the steering wheel, mainly cuz im not sure about some details. i would seriously like to mount one of those quick release mechanisms on my car for the steering wheel, along with a new steering wheel.

my question is, if any of u have ever used one of these "kits" (im sure chrisv has), is there something "more to it" than just mounting it up and then just connecting the steering wheel? will the horn still work or will i need to do some mods?

im asking this in some supra forums too, but i would like to know the general basic info here while i get the more complex and specific details over there.

thanks in advance as always

Depends on the kit. Real racing ones don't have provision for a horn or airbag connectors, as race cars really have no need of a horn. Some of the ones sold as "anti theft" adaptors stil have at least a way for hooking up the horn on your aftermarket wheel (though none have airbag connections.)

And it's no harder to install one than it is to install an aftermarket steering wheel. Just make sure that the adapter fits the wheel you have.
