Hey, I'm looking for a new car.. any ideas?

I'm getting a new car. Well at least new to me. I want a car that's going to be a good car, last me a while, good gas mileage, semi sporty looking, that won't fall apart (as in I'll end up spending as little money as possible)and isn't made of plastic. Ones that have been sudgested to me are like the Saturn SC 1 or 2. Could anyone tell me what they think of these cars. Or of any other cars semi like these, or fit my description (for the most part). I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thanks!

Well, you should answer a couple of questions for us:
1. What is your price range?
2. Do you have any preferences? (Import, Domestic, 4-door, 2-door, etc.)
3. You say you want something sporty looking, but does it actually have to be fast?

1. As low as possible, I don't mind it getting semi high but i don't have a billion bucks to blow on a car. I just need a semi inexpensive car that'll work.
2. import or domestic doesn't really matter, 2-door preferable.
3. Yeah I want it to look sporty and actualy be fast doesn't have to be a 10 second car, but speed is a plus.

Soooo...somewhere between low price and a billion bucks...that really narrows it down.

You really know how to give specifics...awesome!

We are still lost to what you may want.

Yes sporty and fast.
I'm new at this I seriously don't know alot about cars thus the reason i'm asking for help.

Saturns are neat little cars. they have power for a 1.9L 4-banger, but the engine doesn't like to take of right away. it'll stay at the same RPM when you slam on the gas for a second or two and then the RPMs will jump up. after another second or two the car will jerk forward and actually go the speed you wanted it to go when you first slammed on the gas.

What about a late 1980's - early 1990's 2.0l Honda Prelude. They offer resonable performance wont drink too much petrol and are extreamly reliable cars! I've seen US spec Preludes go on for over 400,000miles on the original engine. I'm from the UK as my profile states so dont really know a lot about American cars which is why I havn't mentioned any

I wouldn't go for a saturn. They might be considered "sporty" by some but they have no more speed than any other 1.9 liter 4 banger. For your price range, I would go with Toyota. Corollas don't look terrible, have 1.8 liter I-4 engines and you can drive them into the ground. They're also cheaper than hondas. Mine has 135k and still going strong- i havent had to repair anything because nothing breaks on japanese cars.
