Those are S rated, Toyos, with a 4.7" sidewall, 11.7" radius, 73.7" circumference, good for 10,000miles...So you could go up to 112mph...The wonders of the internet

I had my newly rebuilt (just the top end) Grand am GT 3300 up to 135mph. It wants to keep going but not enough power to push past the wind. After 30,000 miles, it tops out at 125. I had my mazda MX-3 5 speed up to 145. Thats like light speed in that little death trap. That was just a little rotary 4 banger. Time to get a new car and engine. V-8 horsepower.

No they are not.

They are two separate trim levels, with two different top speeds.
The LX 5.0 is only capable of 138 mph, I believe.

Yeah trim levels, I thought it was only the trim, where the hell did it say anything about different top speeds?

I am finding it rather difficult to locate year specific performance stats, but here is a link showing a late 80s LX 5.0's top speed to be 138, lower than Pythias's reported 150 mph for the GT.

With a Governor? My friend had his governor off, everything else was stock except for the tires.

EDIT: Your right I can't find any sites exaclty so I'm done trying to look, I know how fast I went, it's up to anyone who reads this whether they want to believe me or not.

I dunno, I remember in an old issue of Car and Driver the 5.0 LX's top speed was only about that much. The GT I am finding is higher, so yes it's plausible.

Yup the one thing I don't know yet tho is about the 98 Cobra I KNOW we went 175 but from everything I am seeing its not possible. I'll have to talk to my friend ti was he and I who went those speeds in both those 'Stangs so he will know. He's very knowledgable.
