I did a skip barber course this past month and brought a 996 Carrera to 130MPH on a track (Road Atlanta). I liked the car so much I just traded in my 1966 Mustang for a 996 Turbo.

I thought cars in USA where limited to a top of 110 mph (as in Japan).

Im my case, the fastest I have gone was about 135 in a '02 Seat Leon (1.8 turbo 180 bhp VW engine). It wasn't me who was driving -I don't use to drive so fast

Aren't there prison penalties because of speeding in your respective countries? Here, you can go to prison if you exceed limits by 50% or more. For highways, this means driving at 110 or more. In adition, you loose your driving license, too.

It cannot be so difficult. The instruction manual will tell me which pedal is the 'velocitator' and which one is the... 'deceleratrix' (by Mr. C.M. Burns)
May God bless those who have nothing to say and, furthermore, they keep quiet (by someone)

I've never known that to be the case, but then I'm not American, lol.

No legal top speed, no gentleman's agreement between manufacturers.

Traffic laws vary from state to state here in the states. Some have the 20+mph over rule where you are supposed to go to jail for doing 20 or more mph over the limit, although I hear it usually just means the officer writes you up at 19 over.

When I got my only speeding ticket (Which was in WI..damn Racine Co. sheriffs) I got pulled over for doing 114 in a 65. He wrote me up for 88 in a 65 (23 over for those who can't subtract) so I wouldn't lose my license...or my car. The cop was obviously a Camaro fan ( ). Funny thing is I was actually doing about 135-140 before I saw him. I was late for work so...

I probably posted here a long time ago but 200km/h in the Buick

on a 3-4 km straight on the TCH.

my speedometer only indicates 140km/h maximum but someone in another car was along side sort of clocking me, we werent racing just seeing what my car could do with tires rated for 220km/h
