Looking for the "perfect car"

I'm looking for a 2d convertible that has a euro look (sleek lines) and I'm in the 20-30k price range. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I'm supremly interested in the Chrystler Crossfire, but it's out of my price range.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

The crossfire roadster starts at just under 30k.. so that is in your price range (excluding tax)

How about an actual European car, like a used M3.

Crossfire's a great choice, and you should be able to start finding off-lease examples in your price range. They are, after all, Mercedes SLKs with I think a better style to them. Solidly built with proven parts.

Audi A4 Cabrio (kinda gay if you ask me...at least I've seen only gay men in them and wealthy trophy wives)

M3 Convt. (sweet)

BMW 3 Series Convt.

Porsche 911 Cabrio (older style but still sweet)

Merc-Benz C320 Convt. (used...but friendly)

I really don't like the Crossfire. Looks too retro to me.

If it were me, I'd try and find a reletivly used Corvette. Or maybe a 2000+ Camaro SS convertable. Sleek, high performance, great exhuast note.

sorry i dont like the crossfire but i mean.. its lacking. i hate cars with more show than go. the steering is artificial and slow, can you feel the road like a bmw? how can you see the road with the little slits for windows and driving position? can you push this car and drive it without being controlled by driver aids? it may be set up hard but it still seems like it has that north american floaty body. how is that stable? to me its like another american car with no soul and no redeeming grunt that'll be scrapped in few years to come. this is still good for chrysler.. but with the wolves at the door chrysler needs to make cars that blow people away. timeless. this is not.

The regular Crossfire is very uninspired in the performance department. I'd go for a slightly used S2000, used M3 or used Boxster.

I'll second the S2000 suggestion.

Are you on crack?

It's easy to see out of. it's easier to see out of that a Gallardo, Murcielago, F360 or F430 (or really any exotic car, but I dont' hear you complaining about THOSE). It's a Mercedes SLK under the skin and has no floatiness, so I don't know where you're getting that. The steering is as fast as the SLK, and I could feel the road as well as any non-M BMW I've driven, which is why it's priced the way it is. Dude wants a Euro style convertible under $30k, so you're not going to GET a BMW M3 level of handling (unless you get the decidedly NON Euro S2000, butthen you lose a lot fo the luxury). The small engine Z4 could be had for that, but it's actually no better "feeling" than the Crossfire.

How old are you? How many cars have you driven in comparison over the years?

Anyhow, unless he buys used, there are few cars that meet his critera for his price range. But an off-lease car could do fine.
