It's amazing...but why would you need 300GB?!

Not sure if the Processor is the best, because from what I know (which isn't very much ) the ATi's are cheaper, and better...

Not too bad, I can still build a system better than for $800-$900 though. But that's just me

Change the P4 to an AMD FX and the Video card to a ATi and it's got my vote of very decent.

Here's your system...

CASE : TURBO X-DREAMER CASE 350 WATT W/ WINDOW & LCD Temperature Display (BLACK COLOR)

CPU : (939-pin) AMD ATHLON64 X2 4200 CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology

MOTHERBOARD : (Sckt939)Asus A8N5X nForce4 Chipset SATA RAID PCI-E w/GbLAN,USB2.0,&7.1Audio

MEMORY : 1024 MB (512MBx2) PC3200 400MHz Dual Channel DDR MEMORY (Corsair XMS High Performance Memory w/ Heat Spreader)

VIDEO CARD : ATI RADEON X800 GT 256MB 16X PCI EXPRESS VIDEO CARD

HARD DRIVE : 200GB Hard Drive (SATA150 - Maxtor 200GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache Hard Drive)

Optical Drive : (Special Price) LG GWA-4161 16X DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE DUAL LAYER (BLACK COLOR)

SOUND : Creative Labs SB AUDIGY 2 VALUE 7.1

Price: $1214.00

Much better for the price, you dont need a 300gb HD, 200gb is PLENTY! Hell even on my budget system I haven't filled up but 40-60gb. The graphics card is near top of the line and will allow you to play any game you want on it. DONT use onboard sound, they SUCK, and kill frame rates in games. I added the most basic Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card there was, it will give you nice sounds. I didn't add speakers because you can get them for a lot less in other places. You dont need 2gb of memory...1gb is plenty, and in 3-4 years when you need more add another gig in for like $20-$40. Plus, I gave you the better performing Corsair memory, the Value select sucks, cant overclock on it at all really. You can save a few bucks over the Pioneer DVD-RW drive but just getting the Lite-ON, they will work at the same speed and Lite-ON is a good company when it comes to potical drives.

Do me a favor. Go on www.cyberpowersystem.com and see what you can put together. Price limit w/o monitor is 1350 topps. Something for gaming and school use. This is for thunderbird BTW

Now, go through all of that, and delete what you haven't used in over a month, watch it drop below 100gb. Promise. Only way you can fill up that much space is if you rip a bunch of movies to your computers...OR have a ton of games, of which you probably play 3-4 on a regular basis.
