eclipse or mustang????

I've been looking for a new car for under $15,000. After looking at numerous cars i've limited it down to two the v6 eclipse (relatively new), or a gt mustang or regular 99-04. If you could post your suggestion or list maybe an even better car, along with a reason or personal expeirience. It would be super sweet.

Well...

the V6 Eclipses are lousy even compared to the earlier DSM counterparts, not to mention the reliability issues many of them have. I'd recommend a well built Mustang GT as well, if you can afford it, which for under 15k, you should be able to find something in the 1999 range I think.

Really in the long run your choice is the only one that matters but it is nice to hear others opinions. I myself would choose the 1999 and up Mustang cause the looks and plus their domestic and plus its been around this long (since 1964.5) so its a good product. More teens and that go for the imports and that (not fact) and so you see more of them with things like the Eclipse. The Mustang has less mods for it but it makes up for it in looks. Just my opinion. Good luck with whatever choice you make.

The (holding my breath) 3rd generation Eclipse is a waste of time and money. Go for the SN95!

I'd go with the mustang too. Altough the eclipse gt is worth the looks, it's not that fast nor furious as it does seem in the movie. The mustang gt is better overall it's faster, looks better and is a RWD, but not the interior quality though(it's all cheap pieces of plastics)

I'd go Camaro SS Vert or T-top. I think it was in my motor trend magazine a while back, they compared the 02 SS and the 02 Stang GT and they ruled the Maro better bang for the buck. That plus Im a sucker for T-tops

Camaros are fast for the buck, but they are probably the least reliable cars in its class

I'd also suggest looking for a 98-02 Camaro Z/28 (they had a 305hp LS1). The SS will be a bit over $15k with low mileage and in great condition (for a 98-02). The Z/28 handles much better and is much faster than the 99-04 Mustang GT.

id definately go with the eclipse. I mean the ride is sweet all around. And easy to find mods for an import car if your lookin to trick it out a little.

Ummm, neither? My uncle is a mechanic and has worked on so many Esclipses and Mustangs,it makes me want to stay far away. But that's only my experience. I'm sorry, that's not really helpful is it?I'm a Subaru gal myself, so that's what I would recommend, but go with what YOU like.
