If You Could Design A Car...

I have a project in Business Class, and we have to design a product, so I chose car. What I am thinking of doing is just making a car that is great (or pretty good) in every (or almost every) aspect. Price doesn't matter. For example what would you put in, type of spoiler (if any), brakes, etc. Also the design of the actual body. I am trying to get a sports car, not any SUV, or truck or anything. Thanks

Here's what I would do.

4-door sedan, turbo 4 cyl, 6-speed manual or 4-speed auto, "touring" style spoiler out back, All time AWD, semi power semi anti-lock brakes (Basically locks the wheels up on dry pavement, but when there is any kind of possible traction loss like if your on wet pavement, or snow, etc, they work like anti-locks), Leather int. on the upper class model, cloth on the standard model, CD/MP3/AM FM sterio with a 10" subwoofer in the trunk, Chrome wheels for all models (However better designs for the higher class models), Airbags all around, Stiffer "Cage", stockl with Goodyear Runflats. I think that'd be nice...

do you mean 4 turbos or just 2 in parallel. If so, why would you go for this over in-line turbos? Parallel turbos won't reduce turbolag.

How would that help?

I've been trying to work out as much as I can, but stuff keeps coming up.

Hmm. Iv'e done this a couple times in my life. back in '89, I was working with a company developing a couple supercars, we had a 2 door and a 4 door, both mid engine, both running aluminum V8s, inboard coilovers, kevlar/S-glass bodies, CF tub.

Here's a sketch of the 2 door I did back in '89.

A decade later, I wanted to do a retro coupe, one that I still want to do. i'm in th eprocess of engineering it in 3D right now, buit here's an early sketch and pshop of it, as though it was an actual classic from the '60s...

This car would be all about old world craftsmanship right down to the pedals and switchgear, and run a simple, but powerful drivetrain consiting of a combo of high and low tech parts... For example, the engine would be based on an iron block chevy DZ302, but with aluminum heads and electronic injection. Set back in the chassis, it would be durable and lightweight, and like all the DZ 302s, capable of 9000 rpm. it would transmit power through a rear transaxle for balance. the suspension would be in board coil overs at the front and rear, with vented 4 wheel disks and 4-6 piston front calipers.

But all the detailing would be handcrafted.

Of course, I'll never build it due to the realities of lack of funds, but hey, it's fun to play with.

Why would you combine a skyline with an eclipse and add spinners
And twin-turbos don't necesarilly stick out of the hood

That would be a waste of two very nice cars, more so the R34. WEho the hell adds spinners to an R34 or Eclipse and why have a twin turbo setup sticking through the hood, it wouldnt be that pretty looking. IMO.

Technically it wouldn't, but I'm just illustrating the revs that it would be capable of. Revs X torque = power.
