Chevy Beretta 1988-lifters

Lately after the oil gets warmed up in the car,it sounds like a loud tapping noise, checked the oil was a little low. When the car is first started its as quiet as a mouse, lifters were bad-but the only problem is, there are two lifters we cant get to. Is there a special tool that we need to have or does a whole unit need to be replaced? Its driving me crazy especially when you pull up in a driveway, any suggestions? Thanks!!

well without major overhaul, (replaceing the lifters is somewhat of a big job)
there isn't much you can do, throw some lucas down the thing and drive it till it blows up, or spend a buttload of cash and do the job right....is it worth the money? just a suggestion but make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks, and in your case i dont think you do cuz exhaust leaks will sometimes quiet down when the motor gets hot and the metal expands, but exhaust leaks can be mistaken for lifter noise if you dont have a finely tuned ear

re-88 beretta

Thanks for the imfo-no exhaust leaks found-just need to know how to get the 2 end lifters out. Those are the problem, the others were changed and sound good, but the last 2 are hidden, any ideas how to get to them? The ones that were taken out came out easier than expected, cant find the last 2.
Thanks

are you sure we're talking about the lifters here? b/c once you take the intake off, they're all right there...

take everything off the upper engine. intake, valve covers, the whole 9. you are bound to find them then.
