Looking for a cheap car...

Bad news...my Mazda 323 went kaput. The head gasket blew, the water pump is dead and the radiator cracked. I will have enough money to get it fixed in a couple of weeks, but the car being bought at $800 is not worth the $2000 to get it fixed. I can't fix it myself because I don't have the tools or poissbly enough knowledge.

So I'm looking for a car I need to last me a few months until I can upgrade. It needs to be 5 speed, small, good on gas, cheap to insure, and reliable. Probably a late 80's model, but must have power steering. Probably under $2000. Any recommendations?

I'm thinking likely:

Late 80's/early 90's corolla, civic, camry, accord, sentra, 323, 626, sunbird, cavalier, spirit, escort, etc etc etc

I know I always suggest this but, get a CRX. It doesn't have power steering, but since it is so light and nimble I never had problems with it. Plus you could pick one up for under a grand.

Get a Mazda 626 or a Ford Escort. Both great cars, a Corolla would be another one of my choices too.

86 escort gt. the best body style ever for ford escorts. not fast by any means but get like 30mpg. they are especially great for city driving.

an old civic. Like a 92, not sure if they have power steering but they come in 5 speeds and you can get one for under 2k. There are tons of engine swaps for them too. They only have like 87 horsepower stock

lmao 76, thats awesome. I don't particularly like the body style of the crx, but i if i were building a sleeper, that would be one of the cars i would choose. That and/or a ranger or s-10.... Or a Saab 9000T

Would you really want to go 115 in that car?

What was the 0-60 on it
