Talking Another newb question!

Well I was just looking at performance parts and intakes. I see that there are two types of intakes, a Air Intake or a Cold Air Intake. Now heres the question, whatís the difference between the two? Which one is better and where do they go? Do they replace the same part or are they completely different parts?

Thnx in advance!

both are practically the same , i think ... from what i understand cold air intake is just an additional shield or wat they call heat shield covering the opening of the air intake...this will help to reduce the temperature to the air drawn in...colder air is more dense and contains more oxygen atoms thus increasing power to the engine.

Dunno if i am correct...anyone can correct the statement???

you have your normal short ram intake that just gets the air into the engine faster, they generally get warmer air thats around the engine. the cold air intake goes further away from the engine, usually picking up air near the ground where it is cooler. something i heard of a week or two ago apperently works really well, and i wanna do it... i heard of some people taking intercoolers, hooking them up and just running an air filter to the end for big time cold air. only difference that i would do would be to install one of those nitrous intercooler spray systems for even colder air

Well I can't decide between American Muscle or import for reliability. Probably between a Mustang GT or Camaro and for import probably Toyota, maybe a Celica.
