2006 lotus elise in north america

ive seen at some dealerships they are taking fall orders for the 2006 elise? they were illegal for road use in north america up until recently werent they? so these new ones must be modified so they can sell them over here now? anyway i think its neat. sorry if this has already been posted but nothing came up when i searched.
i read on google they've been over here since 2005? but its news to me

Yes they did have to modify them to make them legal in North America, I think the engine might be different too, but dont quote me on that...

The very first one I saw rolled off the back of a flatbed truck a few weeks ago at the exotics dealer across the streat from the dealer I work at...

Its the only one I've seen so far.

Yeah they've been over here for a little bit. I think it's sad that they have a Toyota engine though. The first one I saw was riding around town here in Rock Hill, which I didn't think was good enough for anything better than the Ferrari 328 GTS my old neiborghs have. Anyway, the Elise was silver wioth a black ragtop. It was an awesome car to look at...
