Where do you park your 30k car?

I live in nyc and the stories you hear about here is true, it's like hell here. I'm hesitant in getting a car that'll cost more than 20k, because I don't know where to park it when i'm not in my home. Some of you might say, "Oh go pay and park it at a parking lot". That is good idea on the short run, but if I got to keep on doing that everytime I go get some grocery, then it becomes an economic problem. I can't help thinking that the parts in my car will get jacked when is unattended. So what do you do with your cars?

Move out of "the city" after your job transfer.

My theories are simple. If your gonna spend some money on a car, you might as well spend a little more money on a car you love. I bought a really nice Camaro, and people (mostly my dad) always tell me to take another car when I am going to the mall or grocery store. I paid 20K for the car, and 4K a year for insurance (18 y/o kid). I didn't pay all that $ to look at it in my driveway. I drive it everywhere, park it anywhere, and pray that nobody keys it or steals it. Whatever happens happens though, and if it's anything major my insurance will cover it.

Alarm systems seem like a good idea.
