0-60 time for an 05 Mustang V6?

Ok let's face it, it's insanely hard to beat the Mustang for value, and TRUST me I'm trying.

So does anyone have acceleration statistics for the 2005 mustang v6? I can't find them.

I would imagine 6.4 seconds at the BEST.

Apparently it does it in 6.9 seconds...and stomps through the quarter in 15.3. However..I find these numbers rather hard to believe, considering the '04 did 0-60 in 8.3 seconds.

I thought I read 6.8 for the v6 auto. Think it was car and driver, but coulda been another magazine. I read it at the library.

peoples stats are different because of sea level and other test variables. but 6.8-6.9 sounds about right to me. which aint bad for a v6. could be better

I own a '99 v6 auto. The 04's 8.3 sec was probably with a manual. I believe most V6s are sold with an auto and it feels more like a 9 sec. The '05 has slightly more power, but yeah 6.8sec is kidda hard to believe...

Dont know about 0-60...

But at the track they normally run at best mid 15s.
One guy did pull off a 15.2x in what i believe was a factory beast... But still got beat by a stock 8 year old GS-R....hah

The 215 hp V6 isn't a drag car, but just under 7 seconds is about right, all things considered. That's quicker than the 200hp SVT Contour had been, and a touch slower than the 225 hp Fox GTs were. The V6 has decent torque, but doesn't pull very hard, which is why 15s are what they run in the quarter.

Drive one, it feels pretty strong for a v6. I wouldn't buy one for racing (unless the SCCA classes it favorably for autocross), but for a fun, inexpensive daily driver that's good on insurance, it's a good deal.

It doesnt make much sense for the V6 2004 to be running much slower times than the V6 2005. The 2005 is about 300 lbs heavier, and only has a little bit more torque/hp.

Different gearing, better torque curve, and better hp curve all add up. And the automatic this year is a 5 speed, vs last year's 4 speed.

the V6 however, doesn't have a rear sway bar, and the front one is smaller. Combined with skinnier tires it's a lot more nervous on the road than the GT, but those are easy fixes that don't hurt insurance costs.
