Converting an automatic to manual

hi i just bought a 76 mustang cobra and i was wondering how much it would cost and if it would help to switch an automatic transmition to a manual transmition with a short shift. It would rly help if i got honest answers.

Well, if you plan on getting the fastest times in the quarter mile, it would actually be better to upgrade to a BETTER automatic transmission rather than converting it over to a manuel.

Yes. You can fine tune shifting points, and make the shifts more precise than they would be if you did them manuelly. Plus, its more reliable.
