E30 3 Series

Well I'm interested in about an '89-'92 BMW 3 series. My dad and i have poked around some, and all of the 4 that we've looked at have been leaky or have had oil all over the bottom below the engine or something!! Is this normal?? I'd really like to get one of these cars, but I won't if this is a problem that's constant with all of them. Maybe it has something to do with the hot climate here in the south. Well any help will be appreciated.

Well, if you had went to go look at any other 15yr old car, there would probably be similar problems...

But to answer your question, no I don't think that is a very common problem.

The ones youre looking at must not have been cared for very well.

Well the car I have now is 16 yrs old(an accord) and the only mechanical problems it has or had was the the timing belt and a hole in the exhaust. I think some1 took very good care of it though.
