Buying First Car, Need Some Help!!!

hi, im new here and i was going to buy a car ( my first car, only 16)

i found a few cars online but there are just some questions i had to ask

CAR# ONE
there is a 1992 honda civic lx 4door it has primer blk paint and it says rebuilt motr and trans at 140,000 miles.
its an automatic, has 140k miles, going for 1800 obo, and i just called the guy, he said he still has it, and there is an Electrical problem with the lights. any advice on that? any one know how much the problem would cost to repair?? (cars a bit to far to accuatly go and test drive if im not SURE on buyin it)

CAR# TWO

alright now this is agian a 1992 (really want a honda) and not sure what edition, lx or ex or anything
this car is going for $2000, the guy is FIRM on the price. it has a whomping 210,000 MILES! (im totaly freaked out about the miles, even though its a HONDA) i asked about the timing belt and he said he hasnt changed it.

so yeah. im sorta worried about these cars. i couldnt find antying thing eles in my area that hastn already been sold. any advice would be totaly appreatated!!

Those both have alot of miles...keep looking. So you want a honda? Whats your price range? If I were you I'd look for integras instead of civics from the same year.

yeah they both acuatly do have a lot of miles on it, but honestly any other car i saw had around the same much. and if there was anything that was like a GOOD DEAL i called and it was already sold... my price range is 2grand
this car is only from going to work and school, and like i might only need it for a year untill i save up and buy a newer one...

there is accualty another car
its a 91 accord, 4 door, auto, tint and stuff. 156k miles. idk if it sold yet, im going to accuatly call tomrrow. its going for 1550 which is a good price. problem is when i called i asked if i can come on tuesday and he said god knows if the car might be sold by then, and also i sorta got the feeling it was a dealer (or atleast the place i called was a company)

My '89 Accord needed the timing belt changed around 160,000 I think so that one doesn't look good.

Never buy a car over 200,000 miles unless you plan on having alot of headaches or its a Toyota that you only plan on using for a little while. OR if its a diesel in a non salty area.

Besides, why not get a car with some balls, eh?

Im getting a 1991 Mercury Cougar that has 300,000 miles. Still runs great. Just needs some cosmetic and suspension work.
