In denver we have the IM 240 test. They have a tailpipe sniffer but the car is on a dyno and simulates normal city driving. They scan the computer for codes but even with a O2 sensor code I still pass

Yeah...never been there myself, but my dad has hauled his shit corsica out there a couple of times. I'm not sure if our van has paid a visit though.

My teacher was telling me a story of how his boss (when my teach worked at shop) would pay the employees to change the engine in one his cars since it would come nowhere near to passing...and they got paid pretty well for that too.
