99 Sienna Le Trunk problem

Ok i hav a 99 Toyota Sienna Le. The lock on the back for the trunk isn't working, and i can't even get the key in. Also, i can't unlock it from the inside or with the key. It's stuck closed, and it's friggin annoying. Any suggestions?

Try pushing down or pulling up on it when you use the key or inside trunk release. If that doesn't work try firmly banging down on the trunk several times near where the lock mechanism is (also try this when using the key and release). Try squirting some graphite into the key hole. If all else fails, modern cars have an emergency release inside of the trunk case a child gets locked inside. You should be be able to remove the back seat and gain access to this (even if its only with a stick or something). If you're successful then you should be able to determine the problem (It might just need some oil). Good Luck!
