'90 eclipse trans.

my car has a rebuilt automatic trans. it was barely driven before the engine burned out 5 years ago. The car has been on the road since June of '05. It seems to have a spuratic problem, whether the engine is cold or warmed up. All the fluids are checked weekly, since I drive atleast 1000 miles a month.

When the car is in drive, it only acts up around 25-35 mph. If I accelerate, the engine revs and the speed creeps up a lot slower than usual. If I go into second, it kicks back into gear quicker.

Any ideas on how I could fix this problem....?

Hope this helps.

I would probably say its your torque converter. It would somewhat act like a bad clutch thats slipping. In gear your engine will rev up like your accelerating, but the car will not move with it. You may even be able to get away with having the tranny flushed. Anyway let me know how it turns out.
