Scion
Am I the only person here that thinks scion is nice?
I mean the xA and the xB were really weak. but the tC is crazy. for a stock car it has a really good ammount of power. never thought a camry engine could pull so well
there is a site i tihnk called
http://www.scionspeed.com
I would take an xA purely to make it a show car. I cant see it having any go

The tc is alright I guess. It's the only Scion I would have anything to do with anyway. But for the same money I can think of better alternatives, both used and new.

thats true
but for a new car brand entirely its good
it has scion's sport factor
and toyota's well known reliability standards
best of both world
i agree the tiburon has more power
but i think its a V6
from a 4 cylinder i dont know if there is more coming from other cars that are new
im sure there is
i just havent taken the time to find them
plus the torque is nice
i tihnk the civic Si has 160 horses as well
but nowhere near the 165 torque the tC puts out
and for the features you get (panarama moonroof, signals on the mirrons, reclining back seats, and even factory "tuner" accesories) the tC wins my vote for best newcomer of 05
the replacement for the celica

it's alright especially the tc, but the other one suck. if you put them on scale of nice and rice, the rice side would win.

the xB would make a nice show car
the xA i think will be discontiniued rather quickly
because it has no go nor show
at least the xB has a european design that some can appretiate
xA however is just crap

tC is overhyped in my book. It would of been better if they put the H/O 1.8 in there over the boring Camry motor. The new Civic Si puts out 197hp on the new standard, and when the tC gets updated to the new standard (the Camry already is) it will put out 154hp.
The Tiburon comes with either a 133hp 2.0L I4 or a 166hp 2.7L V6.
You can keep all that extra torque and less rpms with the bigger motors. I'll take the new 2.0L K20Z3 in the Si that makes almost 200hp and can rev to 8500.

Those are on the old standard.
Take off about 5 horses from the 2.0L (133hp) and 6 horses from the 2.7L (166hp) and you have real world numbers o nthe enw rating system Toyota/Honda has adopted.
As for torque the 2.0L would make about 131tq and the 2.7L would make about 175tq if adjustied to the new system.

Good torque for the class, low torque for the displacement and being a V6.

It's the new SAE J1349 standard. It lowers power, on this standard it puts power closer to wheel hp (still not close to dead on, overall about a 3%-4% decrase across the board over the old numbers). Look at the Honda and Toyota unchanged cars from 2005 to 2006, notice how all their power dropped. That's how you know if a company adopted it or not. Only other manufacturers that have adopted it to my knowledge is Porsche. All domestic companies are not adopting it (go figure) and the Korean companies are not either. Nissan said they "might". Hyundai definatley didnt, all their power is still the same from 05-06 on unchanged models and they havent announced they did adopt it.

I like the Scion tC too. What other alternatives are there to it? The Civic Si?
