Fast and the Furious: Realistic or not?

Would you say that the Fast and the Furious is realistic? I'm talking about the drag scenes here, not all the other stuff. Personally, I love The Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious. I went to go see 2F2F with my cousins the first day it came out and it was great, although, I think, it wasn't as good as the first one... So, realistic or not? What do you think?

Well, the races do happen. That part is realistic. The part with making a Lancer as fast as a Yenko Camaro, no. Ahh, how I love that car...

The whole thing about using short bursts of naawws was make believe as far as I know. Street races don't consist of four cars racing at the same time. The race scenes lasted much more than ten seconds. Movies tend to glamorise real life. No, that movie wasn't realistic.

You could say the scenes were based on reality... because there were cars and people involved. It's funny how opinions work. I saw the same two movies you did and think they're two of the worst movies ever made.

Im somewhere between you two. I like some of the cars and I love some of the music. However I only own the original Fast and the Furious because I thought it was really cool. With that Charger ya know.

from what i can remember, nightraces were never like that... ive seen 3 at the most in a single race. and most of the time people are trying to lose everyone else, cuz noone wants the cops to come... more attention = more chance of cops. race wise, yeah, races were to long. all the sauced up cars (nos) kinda pissed me off, cuz i think nitrous is stupid. and yeh, this movie didnt invent the ricers, but it did jump it a good 500%. so all together, the movie wasnt very realistic

I don't know how to break this to you twinkie but the Fast and the Stupid didn't "create all the ricers you see on the road today". Ricers have been around for years, longer than you even. The world didn't start in 1991.

just to be the little chemistry weenie i can be, the chemical formula for Nitrous Oxide is N2O. where did they get NOS from? its like the kleenex, and ketchup. people just start using the company to decribe the product, no matter who makes it.

NOS is an acronym for a company's name, Nitrous Oxide Sytems. They were the first company to market of all things, nitrous oxide systems.

NO! there's Edelbrock, ZEX, NX (Nitrous Express) and there might be some more. Just not sure at the moment.
