Lots Of Questions

All these questions have just built up over time -
Whatís the insurance grouping system like in America?
Are these things that are sometimes with attachments just to let people know that there should be an image there? arrow [c/imgs]
What are POS cars?
How are pony cars different to muscle cars?
Whatís the name for twin turbos that kick in at the same time that are opposed to sequential turbos? Are stacked turbos the same as sequential turbos?
What does N/T mean? Itís something to do with bracket racing isnít it?
What does all motor mean?
Whatís a car dial-in i.e. a 14.50 dial-in?
Aren't there any decent aftermarket gearboxes for the 300 ZX?
Whatís a whisper lid?
What are sodium valves for lower compression ratios all about?
What does a 2-bolt block and a 4-bolt block mean?
Roughly how much does labour cost to have the catalytic converter taken out of an exhaust, or canít it possibly be taken out without replacing the whole section of pipe?
Very roughly, how much does anyone think the following would cost for labour to be installed into a MK4 Supra single turbo -
Greddy T88, downpipe, turbo header, wastegate and air intake system.
Stronger fuel system, fuel rail, 850cc injectors, twin pumps, wiring, relays, braided large line, fuel filtration, fittings etc.
AEM EMS Ė 3 bar map sensor.
HKS twin power ignition.
What's quaiffe?
Any answers will be appreciated wink

What are POS cars? Piece Of Shit?

What’s the name for twin turbos that kick in at the same time that are opposed to sequential turbos? Are stacked turbos the same as sequential turbos? stacked. never heard of it.

What does all motor mean? All motor means All motor. No turbo, No S/C and no NOS. Just pure engine HP

What’s a car dial-in i.e. a 14.50 dial-in? If you dial in a 14.5 1/4 mile and you do a 14.45 1/4. It means you broke out of your dial in. So the other car wins. Unless he breaks out too. The idea is to get as close to your dial in as possible without going under it.

Aren't there any decent aftermarket gearboxes for the 300 ZX? Yes. Nismo has them.

Roughly how much does labour cost to have the catalytic converter taken out of an exhaust, or can’t it possibly be taken out without replacing the whole section of pipe? catalytic converter are easy to knock out. Just need a broom handle I have a 3" pipe thru the centre of my"racing" cat. Makes a good power difference.

Very roughly, how much does anyone think the following would cost for labour to be installed into a MK4 Supra single turbo: -
Greddy T88, downpipe, turbo header, wastegate and air intake system.
Stronger fuel system, fuel rail, 850cc injectors, twin pumps, wiring, relays, braided large line, fuel filtration, fittings etc. Shit loads

AEM EMS – 3 bar map sensor. That maps the air mass. It does the same job as a air flow meter, but is able to be used as high boost levels where a afm will max out. AFM measures the flow of the air, not the mass
HKS twin power ignition. The problem with running high boost levels is, you can blow the spark plug spark out. So you need a device to create a stronger spark.

Any answers will be appreciated

1. There is no real "system" in the states. Unlike the UK it's more of a magic potion. It varies state to state, company to company, even city to city.

2. Beats me.

3. Piece Of Shit.

4. A "pony car" is a class of car started in late "63 by the Barracuda and made popular in '64 by the Mustang (hence the name). Basically they're sporty cars based on then popular US economy cars in the 108" wheelbase class. Muscle cars are slightly larger with a wheelbase in the 112" area. Honestly the two groups have more in common than different.

5. Turbos, whe don't need no stinking turbos.

6. In all my years of bracket racing N/T means nothing to me.

7. ???

8. Sodium valve don't lower compression. Sodium valves have hollow valve stems with liquid sodium inside which helps to dissapate heat better.

9. Used mostly for small block Chevy's when refering to how the main bearing caps are attached.

10. Too freaking much.

11. Quaiffe is a torque biasing differential.

Snoope, how about fewer questions, more often. See ya.
