Exclamation car overheating

My '98 Pontiac Sunfire is overheating. I had a mechanic replace the thermostat thinking that that this would correct the problem, but Nooooo! It's still overheating Please help. I bought some Bar's Leaks radiator stop leak. Do you think this will help?

Bar's Stop Leak, as surprising as this may be, is made to stop leaks, not overheating. Beyond that you don't provide enough background info to come to any type of conclusion.

Tip of the day. If you're technically competent enough to decide you needed a new t-stat, why didn't you also do the job yourself? You would have been better of to let someone with the required knowledge determine what if any part needs to be replaced.
