The dreaded white unveiling sheet

Hey folks,

Has anyone else been perturbed by the fact that there has never been any other way to unveil a new car than with a big sheet of fabric?

It does my head in.

I know that they know that we all know that there's a car under there, but what ever happened to a bit of an element of surprise, imagination, dare i say it, va-va-voom? (pardon the awful pun)

If anyone has ever experienced anything other than the now celebrated ripping off of a sheet from a mysterious car shaped object, please let me know.

I remember when Dodge had one of their NASCAR cars on display at one of the big auto shows, then they had a pit crew come in and lift off the shell, unveiling the new Charger.

The new Charger was unveiled a few different ways, the one mentioned above and then at the Autoshow I was at in February they had drapes all around it and the car itself was on a rotating pad that kinda lifted up alittle. Had spotlights shine done on it when the curtain went up.
